I-SITE BFC: 3 types of partnership opportunities for companies

By providing to companies with the possibility to get involved in the educational, technical and scientific objectives pursued by the higher educational and research institutions located in the BFC region, I-SITE BFC unveils in France a new paradigm in the fi eld of partnership with industries.

I-SITE BFC Industries

Project duration: 3-5 years

Full cost per project: ~ 1 M€

Rate of I-SITE fi nancial aid: from 30 to 50 %

Benefits for the partners:

• Scientific and technological objectives defined by the companies
• Lightened application file and individualised support in drafting
• Quick decision-making procedure compared to national or european funding schemes
• Possibility of involving several companies
• Project manager appointed by the industrial partners

Conditions:

• Involvement of at least one partner from I-SITE BFC and one from industry
• Definition of the project outcomes which will be exploited in BFC
• Selection by an international committee of experts of I-SITE BFC
• « Go/no go » decision performed 18 months after the beginning of the project

Selection criteria:

• Technical goals
• Adequacy of the resources allocated to the project
• Relevance of the partnership with the I-SITE BFC
members

I-SITE BFC Fellowships

Project duration: 3-4 years

Full cost per project: ~ 200 à 500 k€

This instrument inspired by the North America and Asia models, allows companies to guide fundamental research without involving their own resources. Thanks to a «I-SITE BFC Fellowship», companies can initiate research works matching their long-term challenges by supporting an international and talented researcher selected by an international jury.

Selection criteria:

• Quality of the scientifi c CV at the international level
• Scientifi c and technical ambitions
• Exploitation perspectives

Benefits for the partners:

• Scientific and technical objectives defi ned by the companies
• Negotiation of the I-SITE BFC share of fi nancing
• Possibility of involving several companies
• Insider information on the research outcomes
• Priority given to the intellectual property of the exploitable results

Implementation:

• Selection by an international committee of experts of I-SITE BFC
• Coaching and monitoring by the I-SITE BFC governance and the industries
• « Go/no go » decision performed 18 months after the beginning of the project

I-SITE BFC Professional Masters & engineering degrees

Benefits for the partners:

Active participation of one or more companies in the defi nition of Masters or Engineering degrees programmes, in terms of contents, expected skills, internships conditions (duration, work-study training, etc.).

Conditions:

Support to the creation of a training programme in the range of 100 k€ / year during 4 years.
